This gallery is the best I found. Dave Wilson is responsive and cares about his customers. I purchased the Lite version of this product then moved up to the full version. Before you purhase the Lite version please consider the full version because it allows you to copy the settings of one set of galleries to another. This is very handy if you are planning to have a set of galleries on multiple pages (multiple module instances). A bit pricey but well worth the money. Do not hesitate to use the demos and tutorials on the dnn Photo Gallery web site. The tutorials are well worth watching after you install and begin using it. I found that the level of customization available in this product will probably meet most requirements. Some of the comments I read such as a "dated" look are not completely on the warranted. You can make the look and feel of these galleries be as light or heavy as you like. The import feature is very handy but limited to the capacity of your hosting site. My dnn installation errors out when I send over 5 large images from my camera. The size and number of photos in a zip are a factor to consider. Most important feature in my mind is a very decent compression of the photos - this is completely configurable. See Dave's samples of the cat on his web site - very good examples on how to set the compression parameters. This is a really outstanding product!

ust what I was looking for! Simple & easy to use!! Uploads zip files and uncompresses on the fly. I would like to see it be able to handle a bulk load somehow or read in all the photos placed into a directory. Unfortunately, it didn't come with any documentation but was so easy to use so you really don't need it. If you do want documentation, there are videos on the DNN Photo Gallery website that will walk you through the entire process from install to your first gallery. You'll be up & running in minutes.

We have been looking for a gallery module and had purchased seveal. Dave's gave us what we needed, a truly simple  to use Administration panel, the abilty to upload zip files that hold hundreds of photos, adding them to the gallery and creating the thumbnails on the fly.  We also did not want to be forced to display a tilte, date, or anyother information on the thumbnails or the larger pictures and this gallery does not require any of these fields.

Lastly I asked several questions and recieved either same day or next day response.  There was only one other module of the 4 we purchases that the write provided that level of service.  One we purchased 2 weeks ago has yet to answer either an email or a post on his or her forum.

When I look at the time savings this module will save my team, its very inexpensive.

Thanks Dave, keep up the good work!

The DNN Photo Gallery is excellent and your support is fantastic. I purchased the module because of the flexibility of the module. I saw what I wanted it to do in one of your sample galleries but the thing that really helped was the ability you provide to download the various configurations of your sample galleries and then upload them to my own site. That feature alone saved me a lot of time configuring the module to do what you already had in your sample. Many thanks!!!

Excellent Work!!! The best developed module I can concieve. As a developer people concentrate on one or two perspective of the module. This one has it al... css, layout, localization, content management. Everything is thought out like it should be in a true content management system. Did I mention it was easy to use. Ive bought more than 30 diferent modules and this one is a good template for other developer to follow.
Very, very nice module. It's a bit pricey, but certainly isn't a hack job. You're getting what you pay for. This is a very pro module, well architected, with a very polished Admin Interface. It also provides lots of flexibility in presentation.

I'm impressed with the flexibility it allows to display photos many ways. Some of my web-challenged clients want to upload photos but don't want to get into tweaking, compressing and sizing them. I was able to set admin functions so a client can simply upload from a camera and voila, photos are nicely displayed on the page all sized and compressed! Wow. It took me a while to get the hang of the admin functions, yet I'm impressed by the power and simplicity they offer. I didn't see any documentation, but it is mostly self explanatory and after experimenting a while I got the hang of it. Probably better than if I had tried to read about it in a doc. Basically there are settings for the Gallery, and for Thumbnails and Large Images. You can choose to display various combinations of these such as thumbnails only. You can set the saved image quality (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) and max width (160px, 320px, 640px, 800px) for both thumbnails and large images. This determins the file size on the server. As it stands now, there are no compression options between 75% and 100% so if you haven't compressed your photo first, it will be uncompressed at 100% (huge) or compressed down to 75% at the next option. He expects to add an 85% option very soon. Many will use their own tools to tweak, size and compress photos, but what a nice feature for those who don't know how or want to. There are many settings to control the display size of images, size and color of borders, display of photo information e.g. title, notes etc. below photo and on MouseOver and the number of rows and columns of photos. When I had difficulty getting the right settings to model his Gallery Sample 4, he made a new page on his site for Import-Export settings. I was able to copy the settings, paste them into my module and suddenly my gallery looked just like his sample! A few tweaks later it was just what I wanted. Great feature. Support has been excellent: responsive and helpful. What can I say. I think it is great. What a value for a couple of hours of billable time.
